Rithika Somasundaram, MA
Clinical Therapist
Hello! My name is Rithika Somasundaram, and I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. I am currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Louis University and have experience working with individuals across the lifespan—from children to adults. My work has focused on helping clients manage emotions, navigate life events, and build coping strategies for daily challenges.
As a therapist, I am dedicated to creating a supportive, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly. My goal is to empower you to recognize your inner strengths and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. I take a personalized approach to therapy, drawing from strengths-based and psychodynamic practices, all while maintaining a culturally sensitive perspective.
My specialties include working with anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, trauma, and generational trauma. I strive to help clients process their experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing and growth.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy photography, cooking, singing, spending time with my dog, exploring new coffee spots, and connecting with friends and family. I find joy in life’s small moments and cherish meaningful relationships. Reaching out can be daunting, but it’s a brave step towards self-love and personal growth.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or are interested in connecting.
